Plane tickets

Yesterday I bought my plane tickets for England. This will be my first trip there and I will only stay long enough to complete the application process. When the travel agent handed me the paperless ticket, a tingle went through my body as I realized I was going to England...ready or not. It is finally starting to sink in; this idea that I am possibly moving to another continent, 8 hours away from family and friends, to a foreign land. I was recently told by someone with English roots that when she lived in England for a month that she felt like she was finally able to "breathe" in the sense that she finally felt that she had come home. To the place of her ancestors, to her history, to a connection. Having English and Scottish blood in me, I wonder if I will feel that when I go to England.

New beginnings

Hi everyone!
This blog is being established for when I move to England. I want so much to keep in touch with all my family and friends in the US so please read and post comments. I’m not sure I will be able to send personal e-mails to all of you that post but please know that I am thinking of you and praying for you! Please feel free to pass this blog along to anyone who may be interested in reading the ramblings of a traveling gnome …err…nomad…umm…gnomemad.
